About Keerthi
​Keerthi is a compassionate and skilled psychologist and a marriage & family therapist with a strong commitment to patient-centered care. With a Master’s in Counselling (Child, Youth, and Family Therapy), and, Master’s and PhD in Clinical Psychology, Keerthi has had the opportunity to study under professors trained by Marsha Linehan (founder of DBT), Carl Rogers (founder of PCT), and Stephen Hayes (founder of ACT). Keerthi’s diverse training has helped shape an integrative approach that combines evidence-based practices with empathy, understanding, and respect for each individual’s unique experiences.
Keerthi’s clinical expertise spans a broad range of issues, with a particular focus on adolescents, families, and individuals struggling with severe mental health challenges. Her work includes providing therapy for individuals with dual diagnoses and co-occurring disorders, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment that addresses both mental health and substance use. She has a deep understanding of the complexities involved in treating severe mental illness and is skilled at tailoring therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each client.
In addition to her work with individuals, Keerthi has extensive experience navigating high-risk, crisis situations. She has collaborated with law enforcement agencies (in the US) to de-escalate tense situations, offering support and guidance in moments of acute distress. Her ability to remain calm, composed, and empathetic during such high-pressure circumstances has been a key asset in resolving potentially dangerous situations safely and effectively. Keerthi is also passionate about working with underserved incarcerated individuals and marginalized communities to eliminate the stigma around mental health.
Beyond direct patient care, Keerthi is also passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of mental health professionals. With extensive experience in clinical training, she is dedicated to helping colleagues develop their clinical skills, expand their therapeutic toolkits, and approach their work with the same level of care and empathy she brings to her own practice.
