Mapping Access to Nurturing & Adaptive Support

Why This Project 
Rising emotional distress among school-age children highlights the need for early, accessible mental health support. However, the presence of trained counsellors or psychologists in schools is mostly uneven. The Phase 1 of this project conducted an in depth research of multiple schools across India to build a clear, ethical, city-level picture of current availability to inform future interventions, partnerships, and advocacy. 

Based on the research it has been evident that the gap is huge and it will practically take years for national level policies to reflect in these schools. 

We at LoveLiveLearn therefore prioritized this project for year 2026.

About MANAS

What it is: Project Manas is a city-level outreach initiative focused on building emotional awareness, resilience, and mental health literacy among school children.

What interns do:

• Co-facilitate school-based workshops

• Design age-appropriate mental health activities

• Engage with children in structured and safe environments

• Document learning and field observations

What makes it different:
This is not a simulated program. Interns work in real classrooms, with real children, learning how to translate psychological concepts into meaningful engagement.

Learning focus:

• Child and adolescent psychology in real settings

• Ethical engagement with minors

• Group facilitation skills

• Program design and delivery

Outcome: Interns develop the ability to simplify psychology without diluting its integrity.
